Rai Gulp is a children's TV channel operated by the Italian public broadcaster RAI .

The television station

Rai Gulp has been broadcasting its program since July 1, 2007; since January 19, 2009 the program has been broadcast exclusively digitally . The channel can be received unencrypted via the Eutelsat Hot Bird 13C satellite, which can be received throughout Europe .

The channel's target audience has been gradually shifted several times since it started broadcasting: initially, RAI Gulp was aimed at children aged 4 to 10, from July 2009 to 7 to 12 year olds, and since 2011 to 8 to 14 year olds. In addition to series, cartoons and educational programs are offered. The special interest channel broadcasts its program daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Most programs are repeated at least once. These programs are repeated one more time between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.

In addition to Rai Gulp, the RAI operates another children's television channel, Rai YoYo, which is aimed at smaller children. Both channels are managed by the RAI children's television department RAI Ragazzi, based in Turin , which is also responsible for children's programs in the full Rai 2 program.

Since 2014, the station has been responsible for Italian participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest .
