Rai Premium is an Italian television channel operated by the public broadcaster RAI (Radiotelevisione Italiana).

history

Rai Premium went on air on July 31, 2003 under the name RaiSat Premium. Initially, the channel could only be seen on satellite on the pay-TV platform Sky . Rai Premium was also shown on cable TV , on IPTV on the providers Fastweb , Alice home TV and Infostrada TV. When the contract between RaiSat and Sky ended on July 31, 2009, the place was given to Lady Channel . On the same day, Rai Premium became a free channel ( Free TV ) and can be received in all regions of Italy that have already switched to digital terrestre (DVB-T). On May 18, 2010, the name and logo of Rai Premium - as with almost all Rai programs - were adjusted.

Rai Premium shows telefilms and fictions produced by Rai Fiction . To mark the 150th anniversary of Italy's existence , the channel showed repetitions of fictions dedicated to the 150th anniversary. Rai Premium also broadcasts the Roma Fiction Fest every year.
