Wolf Blood - transformation during a full moon (Original title: Wolf Blood ) is a British mystery - Youth series , in collaboration of CBBC and ZDF produced since 2012 Design. The series is about the two teenagers Maddy Smith and Rhydian Morris and shows how they live their double life between humans and werewolf ("wolf blood") and hide their secret from the outside world.

13-year-old Maddy Smith lives with her parents in the small English town of Stoneybridge. But nobody in the village knows that Maddy's parents are different. You are wolf blood, half human, half wolf. When the moon is full or when there is stress and excitement, they transform into wolves. Maddy and her best friends Shannon Kelly and Tom Okinawa are outsiders to their school. But Maddy's life changes suddenly when Rhydian Morris joins her school. She immediately notices that he is different from the others. When she is alone with him in the darkroom of the photo club, Rhydian turns into a wolf, just like Maddy's parents. She tells the others that Rhydian is a distant cousin. But Rhydian quickly causes a stir in Stoneybridge.

The idea for the series came about when Debbie Moon read the words Wolf and Blood in a bookstore . She brought the two words together and developed a series around them. She introduced the series to BBC , which converted the series into a youth series and decided to air it on the youth broadcaster CBBC.
In March 2012, Aimee Kelly and Bobby Lockwood were cast in the lead roles. The film was shot in north-east England at the Charles Thorp Comprehensive School and in the woods and surroundings by Rowlands Gill from February to May 2012. The visual effects were produced by Trixter Film from Munich .
In December 2012, CBBC announced the production of a second season, which aired in the fall of 2013. After the season finale was broadcast, Leona Vaughan and Debbie Moon announced that a third season had been ordered for fall 2014. These were broadcast on the CBBC from September 15, 2014. The fourth season with a changed main line-up aired on CBBC in 2016.

Charisma
The first season ran between September 10 and November 22, 2012 on the British youth broadcaster CBBC. In Germany, the series was broadcast between February 25 and March 6, 2013 on KiKA and from March 24 to June 16, 2013 on ZDF .
The second season premiered on September 9, 2013 on CBBC. The season finale ran on October 21, 2013. A German broadcast took place from February 24 to March 11, 2014 on KiKA. The associated documentary program Wolfblood was then broadcast decrypted .
The third season ran from September 15 to October 27, 2014 on CBBC. Amazon Instant Video offers season 1 through season 4 as video-on-demand.
The fourth season, this time only with Leona Kate Vaughan as Jana and also as the sole main character, was broadcast in April 2016.
