Federico Aubele
Federico Aubele (born August 26, 1974 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine Latin / Dub - Reggae / Trip Hop musician. Aubele himself describes his style as a mix of different musical styles from America.
Career
Federico Aubele began to be musically productive at the age of 12. He got previous influences from his mother, who is an amateur guitarist herself. In 2001 he moved to Berlin for several years because of the Argentine economic crisis , where he also learned German.
Aubele emailed the American DJ duo Thievery Corporation , who, in addition to their own musical careers, also run the record label Eighteenth Street Lounge Music , and was signed after his demo recordings were sent . In 2003, Aubele's debut album , Gran Hotel Buenos Aires , produced by Thievery Corporation was released.
Even with his following albums Panamericana (2007), whose title alludes to the Pan-American Highway , and is Amatoria (2009), in which various guest musicians like Miho Hatori or Sabina Sciubba were involved, Thievery Corporation were back as a producer operates. The latter stands out in terms of sound from Aubele's previous releases, as he can mostly be heard as a singer himself.
In the 8th episode of the 5th season of Alias you can hear his song Esta Noche from his first album Gran Hotel Buenos Aires .
Federico Aubele currently lives in New York City and is married to the Argentine musician Natalia Clavier , who in addition to her debut album Nectar (2008) on Eighteenth Street Lounge Music can also be heard as a singer on Aubele's albums.
