Federico Emmanuel

Federico Emmanuel SDB (born September 6, 1872 in Gassino Torinese ; † January 2, 1962 ) - also written Emanuel - was an Italian religious priest and Roman Catholic bishop in Italy.

Life

Emmanuel got to know Don Bosco personally , finally joined the religious order of the Salesians of Don Bosco and was ordained a priest on June 8, 1895 after his philosophical and theological studies . From 1906 to 1919 he headed the Salesian College in Caserta . On April 18, he was appointed by Pope Pius XI. appointed auxiliary bishop in Sabina-Poggio Mirteto and received Philomelium as titular bishopric . He was ordained bishop on May 10, 1929 by Donato Raffaele Cardinal Sbarretti Tazza and the co- consecrators Giulio Cardinal Serafini and Luigi Maria Olivares SDB. On November 12, 1936, Pope Pius XI finally appointed him. to the Bishop of Castellammare di Stabia . In 1940 Emmanuel stood up for the military chaplain Roberto Dehana, who was imprisoned in Germany . On April 16, 1952, he retired from this diocese. At the same time he was appointed titular bishop of Aezani .
