Titular bishopric Philomelium
Philomelium ( Italian : Filomelio ) is a titular bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church .
It goes back to an earlier diocese of the ancient city of Philomelion (today's Akşehir in Turkey ) in the Roman province of Asia or Phrygia and in late antiquity Phrygia Salutaris in western Turkey. The diocese belonged to the ecclesiastical province of Amorion .
