Federico Gino , full name Federico Gino Acevedo Fagúndez , (born February 26, 1993 in Uruguaiana , Brazil ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.73 meter tall midfielder Gino plays for Defensor Sporting . In 2012 he played five games in the Copa Libertadores U-20 . In the 2013/14 season he played in 17 games in the Primera División and was used five times in the Copa Libertadores 2014 , in which his team failed only in the semifinals. In the 2014/15 season he was used in 23 first division games (one goal). At the beginning of August 2015 it was awarded to the Italian club Carpi FC until the end of the year. There he was not used in Serie A and was only ten times on the matchday squad. His only competitive game (no goal) for the Italians he played on December 3, 2015 in the Coppa Italia against Vicenza Calcio . At the beginning of 2016 he returned to Defensor in Montevideo. On January 29, 2016, the Brazilian club Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte signed him for an initial 18 months with an extension option for three more seasons. With the Brazilians he played in nine league games (Serie A: 4 games / 0 goals; Mineiro I: 4/0, Primeria Liga: 1/0) and two games of the Copa do Brasil . In early March 2017, he joined Santa Cruz FC . So far (as of July 17, 2017) he has completed 16 league games and scored one goal at this career station (Pernambucano: 8/1; Liga do Nordeste: 4/0; Serie B: 4/0).

National team

Gino made his debut on September 5, 2012 under coach Juan Verzeri in the friendly international match against Paraguay in the Uruguayan U-20 national team . He was a member of the Uruguayan U-20 squad at the 2013 U-20 World Cup in Turkey , where Uruguay was runner-up. In the tournament he played in seven encounters and scored once in the opposing goal. So far (as of July 5, 2013) he has completed 15 international matches in this age group and scored one goal.

On May 19, 2015, he was nominated by coach Fabián Coito for the provisional squad of the U-22, which will compete in July 2015 at the Pan American Games 2015 in Toronto .
