Federico Perego

Federico Perego (born September 29, 1984 in Lissone ) is an Italian basketball coach .

career

Perego started his coaching career in his hometown Lissone , in 2006 he moved to the youth department of Aurora Desio. In 2008 Andrea Trinchieri brought him as an assistant coach to the second division Prima Veroli. In 2010, Perego moved to the first division club Pallancanestro Cantù , where Trinchieri was head coach from 2009. The two worked together again there. Perego remained an assistant coach in Cantù until 2013 and contributed to winning the Italian Supercup in 2012. In the 2013/14 season, Perego was assistant coach at Paffoni Omegna.

In 2014 he switched to the German Bundesliga club Brose Bamberg and worked as an assistant coach under Trinchieri. As an assistant coach, Perego was involved in Bamberg's German championship titles in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and in winning the German cup competition in 2017. Trinchieri was released in Bamberg in February 2018, while Perego stayed on for the team. After Ainars Bagatskis was fired in January 2019, Perego was promoted to head coach in Bamberg. The Italian led the team to victory in the BBL Cup final in mid-February. In the Bundesliga they were eliminated in the quarterfinals against Vechta. Perego left Bamberg after the end of the 2018/19 season and became head coach of the Italian first division club Victoria Libertas Pesaro .
