The Federispitz is the local mountain of the community Schänis in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen . It is located in the municipality of Schänis in the Speer - Mattstock area .
The Vordere Federispitz lies above the Schänner Berg at 1699 m . From there, the Federigrat extends past the Alp Obernäter to the northeast. The highest elevation of the ridge is the Federispitz at 1865 m above sea level. M. The rocky north slope drops steeply.
The west side of the Federispitz is called Schänner Berg . The western exposure of the mountain leads to strong winds in westerly winds; this wind is colloquially referred to as Federi Brüeli (for example, the roar of the Federispitzes ).
Secondary peaks and foothills are: Schafberg (1789 m), Chrüzchopf (1776 m), Plättlispitz (1763 m), Grappehorn (1740 m), Chüemettler (1702 m), Vorder Federispitz (1699 m), Gleiterspitz (1531 m).
