Feet of Fury is the first commercial video game for the Sega Dreamcast to be developed and published by SEGA without an official license. This was possible, among other things, because the free developer system KallistiOS was used exclusively for the development . Feet of Fury was developed by Cryptic Allusion , a small development team that at the time consisted of Dan Potter and Roddy Toomim. Sales and production were handled by GOAT Store Publishing, which until then was mainly an online shop .
Gameplay
Feet of Fury is a dance game that was heavily influenced by Konami's Dance Dance Revolution video game series . Feet of Fury is compatible with common dance mats for the Dreamcast, but also supports the normal standard controller . Special attention was paid to the multiplayer mode during development. Feet of Fury contains a total of 22 pieces of music, but it is also possible to use your own CDs with music in Ogg format with Feet of Fury.
Episodes for the Dreamcast scene
When Feet of Fury was released in June 2003 and was even sold through the online retailer Lik-Sang , there was still great demand for new games from the Dreamcast owners. Encouraged by the success of Feet of Fury, GOAT Store Publishing published four more games (Maqiupai, Inhabitants, Cool Herders and Irides) from the semi-professional environment and announced that it would market further Dreamcast games. The Munich-based company redspotgames also sells Dreamcast games to this day and emerged from the independent Dreamcast scene , which was founded by Feet of Fury.
Until Last Hope was released, Feet of Fury was the most successful Dreamcast game without an official SEGA license.
