genre Shoot 'em up

Last Hope is a shoot'em up developed by NG: DEV.TEAM in Germany that was released for SEGA Dreamcast and Neo Geo . The game is an old school shoot'em up and is similar to classics of the genre such as R-Type , Gradius , and especially Pulstar . Last Hope has hand-drawn sprites and pre-rendered backgrounds, the packaging design is very similar to Japanese-style games. The developers call it a tactical shoot-'em-up game.

On July 10, 2006, a strictly limited edition of Last Hope was released for Neo Geo AES and Neo Geo CD . Only 60 copies of the version for Neo Geo AES were released, the Neo Geo CD was limited to 500 copies.

The Dreamcast version appeared six months later and was distributed by the Munich video game publisher redspotgames . Last Hope is the most successful Dreamcast game to date without an official license from Sega . Just as successful as Last Hope was only the 2003 Feet of Fury . A release without an official SEGA license was made possible through the use of KallistiOS , a free developer package for Dreamcast.

Last Hope: Pink Bullets

In September 2009 the NG: DEV.TEAM released a revised version of Last Hope, Last Hope: Pink Bullets. In addition to a simplified level of difficulty, some graphics have also been changed. This version was published by NG: DEV.TEAM without a publisher itself and was released exclusively for Dreamcast.
