The Feldalphorn , also Feldalpenhorn , is 1923  m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Kitzbühel Alps in Tyrol , Austria.

Location and surroundings

The Feldalphorn is part of a mountain ridge that separates the Wildschönau valley in the west from the Kelchsau in the east. The neighboring mountain in the south is the 1980  m high Schwaiberghorn , to the north the ridge continues to the 1648  m high Turmkogel . The tree line on the Feldalphorn is around 1700  m , above the mountain is characterized by alpine meadows . The slopes are relatively gentle.

Paths to the summit

The Feldalpenhorn is a relatively easy hiking mountain. The forest road goes on the Wildschönau side to the Untere Prädastenalm at 1320  m . From there a marked hiking trail leads from the northwest to the summit. Marked hiking trails also lead over the ridge from the Turmkogel and the ridge from the Schwaiberghorn, as well as from Kelchsau from the east.

The Feldalphorn is also a popular ski touring mountain . The ascent from Wildschönau is considered relatively safe from avalanches. From the valley, the Schwarzenau, about 1000 meters of altitude have to be overcome. The ascent time is about 2.5 hours.
