Felicia Barton
Felicia Diana Barton (born March 6, 1982 in Virginia Beach , Virginia , United States ) is an American songwriter and singer who has been active since 2008 , best known from the eighth season (2009) of the talent show American Idol . In 2013 she was signed to Warner / Chappell Music, Inc. and Pulse Recordings as a songwriter. Barton co-wrote songs for Demi Lovato and Lea Michele . Her son Malachi Barton is known from the Disney sitcom Right In The Middle And No Escape .
Career
American Idol
Barton applied for the eighth season of the talent show American Idol (the American version of Germany is looking for the superstar ) in Louisville , Kentucky. In the last round before the semi-finals, Barton was eliminated due to a jury decision. The day after their departure, however, it was announced that the semi-finalist Joanna Pacitti had been disqualified and Barton was to replace her in the third group of semi-finalists. Barton received positive feedback from the jury and commentators on the Internet for her appearance in the semifinals, but was still eliminated, as it became known the next day.

American Idol career
Lost Words (2011)
Barton released their first EP Lost Words on September 1st, 2011. This consists of seven pop, rock, and soul songs.
Other
In spring 2013 Barton signed a "joint venture record deal with Warner-Chappell & Pulse". She has co-written songs for Demi Lovato, Lea Michele and American Idol finalist Jena Irene Asciutto. Barton also worked as a backing singer on the dance talent show Dancing with the Stars . On July 12, 2015, she appeared in the Miss USA 2015 election.
Barton is also the singer on the theme song for the DuckTales series , which was reissued in 2017.
