Felix (musician)
Felix is the pseudonym of the British DJ and producer Francis Wright (* in Chelmsford , Essex ).
biography
Felix became known in 1992 through the single Don't You Want Me . The song, which is based on samples from the 1989 dance track Don't You Want My Love by the New Jersey trio Jomanda, was a European hit and reached number one in Switzerland , number two in Germany , number three in Austria and number one six in England . A remix of Don't You Want Me , the Pugilist Mix, was used in an advertising campaign for the soft drink Tango.
The follow-up single It Will Make Me Crazy also sold very successfully and was ranked 3rd in Switzerland, 5th in Germany, 8th in Austria and 11th in England. The album # 1 , on which the two previous hits are also found, entered the charts in 1993 and had to be content with top 30 positions in Austria, Switzerland and England, in Germany the record did not go beyond number 76. The release Stars , which contains a sample of the song of the same name by the American disco singer Sylvester , only placed 29th in the UK charts and is Felix's last hit parade listing.
From 1995 Francis Wright formed the techno project Party Crashers with Kenny C. After the DJ and producer Tony Sapiano joined the project, the name was changed to Sapiano and the Partycrashers.
