Felix Hörhager (born September 9, 1968 in Munich ) is a German media artist , communication designer and photographer .

Life

After completing an apprenticeship as a carpenter, graduating from high school and attending the Free Art Workshop in Munich, Felix Hörhager studied communication design at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich (diploma 1999) and at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich, art teaching (state examination 2005) and video art (diploma 2007). Felix Hörhager has been working as a video photographer and graphic artist for Bayerischer Rundfunk since 1999 . From 2007 he also works for the German Press Agency as a freelance photo reporter and video photographer. In the same year he began to work intensively as an artist . In 2009 he exhibited the “TIME” project in the mirror of the “ Lothringer 13 ” in Munich and won the “Pressefoto Bayern” competition in the “Daily News” category. In 2010, the same award followed again in the same competition. The video photographer won three prizes in the “dpa Photo of the Year” photo competition. Felix Hörhager has been teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich since 2010. In the years 2009 to 2017 the video art work thought project was created , a film adaptation of his "thoughts after reading books" (Hermann Hesse / Siddhartha, Milan Kundera / Unbearable Lightness of Being, Jack London / Wolfsblut and Selma Lagerlöf / Nils Holgersson). The premiere of the thought project took place in Munich in 2018. The media artist has been working on the video collage Raumgedanken since 2018. The goal: to give astronauts “relaxation to take away”, tailored to the needs of space.
