Felix Kaul

Felix Kaul (born June 21, 1920 in Gliwice , Upper Silesia ; † May 31, 2013 in Karlsruhe ) was a German lawyer and former federal prosecutor .

Life

After studying law , Kaul worked in the state security department of the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office in Karlsruhe from 1954 . There he first worked as a public prosecutor, then as a senior public prosecutor.

In June 1959 he moved to the Federal Ministry of Justice and in January 1964 returned to the Federal Prosecutor's Office. In 1966 he was appointed senior public prosecutor at the Federal Court of Justice. In October 1968 he was appointed Federal Prosecutor at the Federal Court of Justice. From August 1974 Federal Prosecutor a. D. Kaul the department for state security matters, which until May 1978 included the areas of espionage and terrorism. This time was marked by the crimes of the first and second generation of the Red Army Faction (RAF). Kaul played a key role in all of the decisions related to the major RAF attacks in 1977. With the restructuring of the two investigation areas into independent departments, Kaul took over the management of the espionage department and had been the permanent representative of the Attorney General since December 1978.

On the occasion of his retirement in May 1985, Kaul was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .

Kaul was a member of the country team Zaringia Heidelberg united with Vandalia Breslau .
