Felix Kreutzer (* 1835 in Düsseldorf ; † April 7, 1876 ibid) was a German landscape painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

From 1851 to 1858 Kreutzer studied painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . Josef Wintergerst , Karl Ferdinand Sohn , Rudolf Wiegmann and Hans Fredrik Gude were his teachers there. Kreutzer stayed in the Gudes landscape class from 1854 to 1858. Kreutzer went on study trips to the Netherlands and the Rhine. As a mood painter he preferred romantic landscape motifs in evening or night light. In 1860 he took part in an academy exhibition in Berlin, and from 1854 to 1864 he exhibited at the Rheinischer Kunstverein in Mainz.
