Felix Müller (prehistoric)

Felix Müller (* 1952 in Basel ) is a Swiss prehistorian .

Felix Müller studied Prehistory at the University of Basel , where he in 1983 with one of Ludwig Berger and the Marburg Prehistorians Otto-Herman Frey supervised dissertation on frühlatènezeitliche disk collars doctorate was.

He then worked at the Bern Historical Museum , initially as a curator . In 1990 he received his habilitation in prehistory at the University of Bern with a paper on the mass discovery from Tiefenau near Bern . From 1997 until his retirement at the end of October 2014, Felix Müller was head of the archeology department and deputy director of the museum. In the academic year 2000/2001 he was appointed honorary professor for prehistory at the University of Bern for special achievements, and in 2015 he retired in this position .

His research focuses on the culture and religion of the Celts . In this context, he conceived the internationally acclaimed exhibition The Art of the Celts , which was shown in 2009 in the Historical Museum Bern and then in the Württemberg State Museum in Stuttgart .
