Felix Mehrkens (born September 20, 1994 in Lüneburg , Germany ) is a German handball player .

Career

Mehrkens started playing handball at Lauenburger SV at the age of eight. At the age of 13, the back player moved to the youth division of HSV Hamburg . The right-hander played in the A-Youth Bundesliga with the A-youth from HSV Hamburg . Furthermore, Mehrkens was in the squad of the U23 team from HSV Hamburg, for which he went on goal hunting in the major league . In the 2014/15 season he was also entitled to play for the second division club SV Henstedt-Ulzburg due to a second game right . On September 20, 2014, he was used for the first time in the game against GSV Eintracht Baunatal in the 2nd Bundesliga. Mehrkens played for HSV Hamburg in the Bundesliga on May 31, 2015 and scored two goals on his debut. From summer 2015 until bankruptcy and the withdrawal from the Bundesliga in January 2016, he had a professional contract with HSV Hamburg. After the bankruptcy, Mehrkens was an important part of the U-23, which made promotion to the 3rd division north possible, in which he played with the newly formed team from the handball sports club Hamburg. In November 2017 he moved to HC Empor Rostock . Since 2018 he has also coached the A-youth from HC Empor Rostock, which competed in the A-youth Bundesliga in the 2018/19 season.
