Felix Wiemers (born June 29, 1988 in Biedenkopf , Hessen , Germany ) is a German gymnast and freerider ( skiing ). He is considered an up-and-coming talent in the German freeride scene and now the most important freerider in the German ski scene.

Life

Felix Wiemers comes from a family who are enthusiastic about skiing and sports. The son of a teacher couple from Biedenkopf has been interested in skiing since childhood.

He studied in Marburg an der Lahn teacher for sports, German and physics. In 2013 he was a protagonist in the freerider short film "Two much snow" directed by former grass ski professional Michael Bernshausen . Wiemers lives in Biedenkopf.

Gymnastics

Wiemers is a member of the KTV Obere Lahn in Biedenkopf. There he works as an artistic gymnast with a focus on floor exercises . He was several times Hessian youth champion. The club is currently in the 1st national gymnastics league.

Freeriding

Wiemers is active in the relatively unknown and new sport of freeriding. There he already took part in various tournaments, his best placement was 2nd place at the 1st Radical Ride La Clusaz 2013.

In 2014 Wiemers took part in the Freeriding World Tour for the first time with a wildcard . This is the world's most important event in the field of winter sports freeriding. Since then he has been represented regularly and at other tournaments and competitions in the scene.

In the course of his various participations in competitions etc. a. participated in Fieberbrunn , Haines ( Alaska ), Chamonix etc.

Its sponsor is the manufacturer High Sierra.

In 2016 the film Characters on Ski was released , in which Wiemers also took part. He is currently number 15 in the world rankings in freeriding in skiing.
