Felix Zintl

Felix Zintl (born December 30, 1940 Schönthal , today Tři Sekery , Czech Republic ) is a German pediatrician .

Career

Felix Zintl came to Wasungen with his family in 1945 . From 1960 to 1966 he studied medicine at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and became a pediatrician. In 1976 he completed his habilitation, was appointed associate professor in 1987 and professor in 1992. In 2006 he retired.

He set up an independent department for hematology and oncology at the Clinic for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine at the University of Jena . In 1980 he carried out the first bone marrow transplant on a child in the GDR.

In 1990 he founded the Jena Children's Aid Foundation, which supports the University Children's Clinic in Jena with donations of around five million euros to improve the facilities.
