The Feller Maximiner castle , actually Maximiner Burg is a former castle in the village of Oberfell the community fur (castle 2-9) in the district of Trier-Saarburg in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The Maximiner Burg was built by the St. Maximin Abbey , in 1333 there were extensions and alterations and the foundation of the St. Margarethe chapel. In 1783 the buildings were rebuilt, auctioned off in 1804 and converted for residential purposes.
Only the remains of the surrounding wall , the barrel-vaulted cellar and the baroque archway remain from the former castle complex. The archway of the castle gate shows classic pilaster architecture made of sandstone blocks .
