Rock inscription from Delibaba

The Urartian rock inscription of Delibaba ( Velibaba , Circle Khorasan Province Erzurum ) located on the banks of the creek Soimen, a southern tributary of the Araxes . The site is between Hasankale / Pasinler and Eleşkirt (Alaškert). It comes from the reign of the Urartian king Menua .

She reports that King Menua, son of Išpuini , built this fortress (É.GAL) for the mighty d Ḫaldi and then lists the titles Menuas. Comparable inscriptions are also known from Pasinler and Başbulak , for example . They testify to an extensive building program with which the newly conquered areas were systematically secured.
