Hydrology

At the confluence with the Moselle, the mean flow rate (MQ) is 2.45 m³ / s; the catchment area here covers 82.8 km².

In Florange , the average annual runoff of the Fensch was calculated over a period of 35 years (1968–2002) . The catchment area at this point corresponds to about 82.6 km², almost the entire catchment area of the river.

The flow rate of the Fensch , with an annual average of 2.06 m³ / s, does not fluctuate that much in the course of the year. The highest water levels are measured in the winter months from January to March. The flow rate reaches its peak in February at 3.25 m³ / s. From April on, the discharge decreases month by month and reaches its lowest level in September with 1.30 m³ / s, after which it increases again from month to month.

The monthly mean discharge (MQ) of the Fensch in m³ / s, measured at the hydrological station Florange.
