Feodor Goecke

Feodor Goecke (born March 23, 1836 in Duisburg , † April 6, 1907 in Bonn ) was a German manager and politician and general representative of the Rhenish steelworks .

Life

Born the son of a lawyer , Goecke studied philosophy and medicine in Berlin and law in Bonn after attending the Duisburg grammar school . During his studies in 1854 he became a member of the Alemannia Bonn fraternity . In 1857 he was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD . After clerkship and assessor time in Duisburg, he worked briefly in the office of his father, but was then sub-director in 1863 and director of the Rhein-Ruhr-share association. In 1869 he became a city ​​councilor in Duisburg. From 1870 to 1873 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the National Liberal Party . In 1876 he represented Duisburg at the German Association of Cities . In 1877 he became a general agent and chairman of the supervisory board of Rheinische Stahlwerke AG in Meiderich . As chairman of the municipal port commission (1889–1890), he made outstanding contributions to the expansion of the Duisburg port .
