Ferdinand Björkstén

Ferdinand Joef Björkstén (born June 17, 1835 in Loviisa , † November 18, 1897 in Munich ) was a painter and engraver of Finnish descent who worked in Munich .

Björkstén studied architecture at the Petersburg Art Academy .

At the age of 37 he began studying at the Royal Academy of the Arts in Munich on November 1, 1872 . He attended the copper engraving school with Johann Leonhard Raab and studied painting with Karl Theodor von Piloty .
