Fageth, who had taken part in the civil war, was arrested in Pichl near Wels and sentenced to life imprisonment by a jury on March 10, 1934. His sentence was reduced to 18 years by the Supreme Court on May 17, 1934, and the seriously ill Fargeth was granted a conditional pardon on December 21, 1935.
