Ferdinand Falco

Ferdinand Ludwig Falco (born May 23, 1879 in Augsburg , † November 13, 1948 in Mörlenbach ) was a German chemist and industrialist.

Life

After graduating from the humanistic grammar school in Erlangen, Falco studied inorganic and organic chemistry at the University of Erlangen. In 1902 he became a member of the Baruthia Corps . In 1909 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD. Afterwards he was a qualified food chemist and pharmacist first assistant at the chemical laboratory in Erlangen. From 1910 to 1915 he worked as a works manager at Bayer in Leverkusen. In 1915 he was appointed to the board of directors of Wasserreinigung AG Triton in Berlin. His main areas of work there were sewage disposal for the Döberitz military camp and the water supply for the Plaue powder factory. In 1916 he was appointed plant inspector of the Eifel explosives factory of the weapons and ammunition procurement office, where he achieved a multiplication of explosives production. In 1917 he moved to Rhenania AG in Aachen and became operational director of a phosphate factory in Obourg, Belgium. After the First World War he became director of the phosphorus plant of Rhenania AG in Brunsbüttelkoog and a member of the Reich phosphoric acid committee.

In 1924, Falco was appointed a member of the board and technical director of Hartkortschen Bergwerke und chemical factories AG in Gotha. In 1928, when it merged with Sachtleben AG , he undertook a management buy-out of several companies, which he has since been operating under the name of Dr. F. Falco Co., Schutzanstrich- und Baudichtmittel-GmbH based in Ladenburg am Neckar.

Falco last lived in Ludwigshafen.
