Ferdinand Georg Riotte

Ferdinand Georg Riotte (born January 23, 1812 in St. Wendel , † May 1, 1898 in St. Johann ) was a German lawyer and politician.

Life

Riotte was born in 1812 as the fourth of five children of the justice of the peace Johann Nikolaus Riotte and his wife Maria Josefina (née Cetto). From 1829 he studied law in Bonn and Heidelberg and from 1833 he was attorney at the Ducal Saxony-Coburg Regional and Appeal Court in St. Wendel. In 1835 he became a lawyer at the Saarbrücken regional court. In the same year he established himself as a lawyer in Saarbrücken.

After being involved in the German Revolution in 1848/49 , he became a member of the Prussian National Assembly in 1849 . From 1838 to 1868 Riotte was also involved locally: He was a member of the municipality, district and city council of the city of St. Johann. In 1859 he was elected 2nd alderman of the city, in 1862 1st alderman. In August 1868 he announced his retirement from all offices and only remained town syndic until 1880. In 1872 he received his appointment to the judiciary. In 1879 he resigned from the bar for reasons of age.

Riotte died in St. Johann in 1898 and was buried in the St. Johann cemetery.

The lawyer was married to Clementina Sophia Tosetti (1812-1841) since September 19, 1837. The couple had a daughter.
