Ferdinand Hasenfratz

Ferdinand Hasenfratz (* July 7, 1858 in Untereggingen ; † May 1, 1943 there ) was a postal agent , council clerk and local researcher , he dealt with nature, literature and history, especially his homeland. He liked to refer to himself as the “forest troll” or eagle owl from the Wutach valley .

His local history works, poems and festival pieces in dialect were mostly self-published in small editions.

He collected passionately all that was of historical importance to his country. Among other things, he owned the short sword of Hans Müller von Bulgenbach .

In 1984, a selection of his work was reprinted by Edition Isele Verlag.
