Ferdinand Maria von Baader

Ferdinand Maria von Baader (born February 10, 1747 in Ingolstadt , † March 4, 1797 in Augsburg ) was a German physician, philosopher and naturalist.

He was a professor at the Lyceum and director of the natural history cabinet in Munich . From 1776 he was a full member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences . He took an active part in the society movement of the Enlightenment period . Since the 1770s a member of the Munich Freemason Lodge "Theodor zum guten Rat" and temporarily its master from the chair , the Enlightenment member joined the Illuminati in 1778 and the Gold and Rosicrucians in 1784 .
