Ferdinand Moritz von Mengersen

Ferdinand Moritz Falco Franz von Mengersen (* 1706 , † 1788 ) was the Landkomtur of the Westphalia Ballei of the German Order as well as Conference Minister of Grand Master Karl Alexander of Lorraine and Lieutenant General of Cologne .

Life

He came from the noble family von Mengersen and was the son of Burchard Bruno von Mengersen and Maria Therese nee. from Hörde .

Since 1731 he was a knight of the Westphalia Ballot. Between 1737 and 1746 he was Komtur der Kommende Brackel . In 1740 he was appointed governor of the Westphalia Ballei. Between 1741 and 1788 he was the Landkomtur of the Ballei Westfalen with its seat in the Kommende Mülheim . He was also Komtur von Osnabrück (1740–1788).

Mengersen was the owner of the Paderborn prince- bishop infantry regiment "Mengersen on foot" during the Seven Years' War as well as the war council of the bishopric of Münster and Kurkölns.

He is buried in Rheder .
