Ferdinand Theodor Dose
Ferdinand Theodor Dose (born April 3, 1818 in Bünsdorf near Rendsburg , † April 29, 1851 in Hamburg ) was a German genre and portrait painter.
Dose studied from 1836 with Gerdt Hardorff at the Johanneum-Gymnasium Hamburg and from June 14, 1839 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich . From around 1842 he continued his studies at the Royal Prussian Art Academy in Düsseldorf with Theodor Hildebrandt . After graduating, he settled in Hamburg as a freelance artist.
He died at the age of 33.
