Ferdinand Wilhelm Emil Roth

Ferdinand Wilhelm Emil Roth (instead of Ferdinand: Friedrich; * August 6, 1853 in Eltville ; † February 8, 1924 in Offenbach am Main ) was a German historian .

As an autodidact and private scholar, Roth, who never completed a degree, presented almost 500 publications that dealt primarily with the history of Nassau , the city and the archbishopric of Mainz . In addition, he published a lot of material on the history of book printing on the Middle Rhine . Roth was a Catholic denomination. For several years he was treated as a paranoid in the sanatorium on the Kiedricher Eichberg .
