Ferdinand Zellbell (the younger)
Ferdinand Zellbell the Younger (born September 3, 1719 in Stockholm ; † April 21, 1780 ibid) was a Swedish organist and composer .
Zellbell received first lessons from his father Ferdinand Zellbell and from Johan Helmich Roman . In Hamburg he studied with Georg Philipp Telemann . He followed his father in 1751 as court conductor and in 1753 as organist of the Storkyrkan in Stockholm. From 1772 to 1774 he headed the Royal Swedish Academy of Music .
Zellbell composed an opera , the opera ballet Sveas Högtid , cantatas , four symphonies and instrumental concerts . Telemann's influence can be felt everywhere in his works.
