Ferenc Cziráki

Ferenc Cziráki [ ˈfɛrɛnts ˈtsiraːki ] (born November 19, 1913 in Budapest , † August 5, 1986 ibid) was a Hungarian field handball player . He finished 4th with the Hungarian team at the 1936 Summer Olympics and won bronze at the 1938 World Field Handball Championship .

The Hungarians lost their first game at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin 22-0 against the favored German team , but as they won their second game against the United States 7-2, they qualified for the final round. There you had no chance and all three games were lost quite clearly. In the end, the team was only fourth behind the teams from Germany, Austria and Switzerland . Ferenc Cziráki played three games during the tournament, but could not score a goal.

At the field handball world championship in 1938 , the Hungarian team won their preliminary round match 10: 6 against Denmark . In the semifinals they lost again significantly with 14: 3 against Germany. With the 10-2 win against Sweden in the match for third place, Ferenc Cziráki was able to win the bronze medal with the Hungarian team.
