Fernando Germani

Fernando Germani (born April 5, 1906 in Rome , † June 10, 1998 Rome) was an Italian organist , composer and organ teacher.

As a child, Germanis showed musical talent. At the age of four he played the piano and violin in public, and at the age of eight he received his first composition lessons from Ottorino Respighi , who also introduced him to the organ. At fifteen, he was appointed organist of the Augusteo Symphony Orchestra in Rome.

Germani was considered an excellent interpreter of Johann Sebastian Bach's music . The organ school published by Germani, in which the principles of modern pedal technology are recorded, is also of particular importance. Germanis's students include Wolfgang DFallmann , Paul Damjakob , Egidius Doll , Erwin Horn , Helmuth Rilling , Ekkehard Schneck and Ernst Triebel .
