Fernando Puig Rosado

Fernando Puig Rosado (also Puig Rosado ; born April 1, 1931 in Don Benito , Extremadura ; † September 25, 2016 ) was a Spanish painter , graphic artist , illustrator of children's books and animated film maker .

Live and act

After studying medicine in Spain, Rosado lived in Paris from 1960, where he developed into an illustrator of children's and youth literature . He drew for magazines such as Astrapi, J'aime lire, Okapi and Phosphore. His illustrations have appeared in Switzerland, England, Spain and Germany. His work for advertising, television (animated films) and exhibitions made him known worldwide.

He illustrated several stories by Pierre Gripari ( Contes de la Rue Broca ), Evelyne Brisou-Pellen ( Les Concombres du roi ), and Sylvie Girardet ( La Maison des cinq sens and une encyclopédie du monde animal ).

With Jean-Pierre Desclozeaux and Bonnot, he founded the “Société Protectrice de l'Humour” (Association for the Protection and Promotion of Humor) in Avignon in 1967 , which organizes exhibitions with artists from all over the world.

As a humorist and defender of human rights and the environment, he and Henriette Bichonnier published an ironic manifesto against war ( Tetaclak et Poirabaff , 1990) and founded a citizens' initiative with Sylvie Girardet ( Vive le civisme, Silence la violence , 2004).

Fernando Puig Rosado had two children.
