Fernando Spengler Rodriguez (born April 5, 1979 in Havana , Cuba ) is a Cuban-German singer (tenor, high baritone), actor, songwriter and musical performer .

Life

Fernando Spengler grew up in Havana and took part in singing competitions as a schoolboy. After professional training and military service, he began his vocal studies at the age of 21 at the music conservatory "Alejandro Garcia Caturla" in Havana.

He got his first engagement in 2003 as a solo singer in the Cabaret Tropicana , one of the most famous live productions on the Cuban island. In 2006 he was selected for the role of "Simba" as the only one of 800 candidates at a casting for the Disneymusical The Lion King in Hamburg.

In 2010 he made his film industry debut in the leading role of "Fabio Veloso" (Papai) in the movie Here Comes Lola! based on Isabel Abedi's book series. On the set he benefited from working with actors such as Julia Jentsch , Nora Tschirner and Axel Prahl, among others .
