The Telecommunications Tower Passau or Telecommunications Tower Passau-Haidenhof is a telecommunications tower owned by Deutsche Telekom in the Haidenhof district of Passau .
The telecommunication tower, designed as a reinforced concrete structure with two antenna platforms, was built in 1962/1963 by the then Deutsche Bundespost for the implementation of directional radio links, as a transmission tower for the non-public radio service and as a television transmitter for Bavarian television and ZDF . Its foundation is 383 meters above sea level. The tower originally had a height of 76 meters, of which 24 meters were accounted for by the red and white GRP cylinder in which the two television stations were housed. After the introduction of DVB-T , the analog television transmission system was no longer needed and the cylinder was dismantled. After the shortening of the antenna support on December 5, 2007, the tower is only 52 meters high.
