The communication tower Schnittlingen ( radio transmission point Lauterstein 1 ) is a 128 meter high transmission tower of Deutsche Telekom AG in the district of Schnittlingen in the municipality of Böhmenkirch near Geislingen an der Steige in the district of Göppingen in Baden-Württemberg . It is located between the villages of Stötten and Schnittlingen at an altitude of 734  m above sea level. NN on the northern edge of the Swabian Alb .

The type tower of reinforced concrete was from 1981 to 1982 by the architect Erwin Heinle built and Robert wiper in 16 months of construction. It has an operating floor and three platforms at heights of 75, 83 and 91 meters.

In addition to directional radio and mobile communications , the location also serves to broadcast the radio program “ bigFM ”. The cable headend housed in the tower was shut down in 2005.

In addition, the amateur radio beacon with the callsign DB0SHF is housed in the tower.

A military shortwave station was built on this site as early as 1937 , which was confiscated by the American occupation forces in 1945 and transferred to Deutsche Post (from 1950 Deutsche Bundespost ) two years later . Today's telecommunications tower replaced a 51 meter high reinforced concrete tower from 1957, which was 45 meters further northwest and was demolished in 1989. The height of the mast shaft is 105 meters.

To the north of the tower is a Vestas V90 wind turbine, which towers over the tower with a total height of 150 meters.
