The Novorossiysk television tower is a 261.45 meter high television tower in Novorossiysk, Russia , made of reinforced concrete. It was completed in 1996 after ten years of construction and is used to transmit radio and television programs. The tower is located on a 373.5 meter high mountain pass near Verkhnebakansky in the northwest of Novorossiysk. It is architecturally remarkable that the concrete tower shaft does not taper upwards, but rather has the same cross-section from the base to the tower cage at a height of around 144 meters. The mass of the tower is 12,000 tons, the steel antenna on the top weighs 300 tons.
