The fire ship Relandersgrund ( Finnish : Majakkalaiva Relandersgrund ) was a Finnish light ship , the 1888 to 1914 in the Archipelago Sea in Rauma was positioned. Today it serves as a restaurant ship in Helsinki .
history
The ship was built in 1886–1888 by W: m Crichton & C: o Ab in Turku . It has a length of 27.1 meters, a width of 6.7 meters, a draft of 2.1 meters and displaces 168 tons.
Until 1914 it served as a lightship in the confusing archipelago near Rauma, which has been known for many strandings and wrecks since the Middle Ages. In 1914 it was drawn in and - after the German Navy had mined the Finnish coast - sunk by Russian sailors.
After the end of the war, the ship was salvaged, repaired in Tallinn and used as the reserve lightship Reserv 1 from 1918 to 1937 . From 1938 to 1978 it served as an expedition ship under the name Vuolle . In 1978 it was sold for scrapping, but reappeared in the 1980s and was first used as a restaurant ship under the name Rellu in Kotka , now in Helsinki.

The Relandersgrund station was taken over from 1918 to 1921 by another lightship called Relandersgrund (II) , the former Russian Libauskij , which had previously served at the Libau station and is now a museum ship in Hamina .
In 1921 the lightship Relandersgrund (III) , the former Äransgrund, followed at the Relandersgrund station . In 1926 it was renamed Relanderinmatala (Finnish name form) and in 1933 Rauma . During the war of 1939/40 this ship was drafted. Since 1956 it was used under the name Kemi at the Kemi station. Today it is a museum ship in Kotka.
