Fever pitch

Fever Pitch is an autobiographical novel by Nick Hornby .

It deals with the life of a football fan and is written in the form of a diary , with each entry preceded by a football result. The original edition and the German translation appeared in 1992. Hornby's book pays homage to Arsenal FC , a book about growing up, the search for yourself, family and friends.

The book was filmed twice, in 1997 in a football version with Colin Firth (German title: Ball Fever ) and in 2005 with Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore as a baseball film under the title A Man for a Season .
