Fiachra Trench
Fiachra Trench (full name Fiachra Terence Wilbrah Trench, * 1941 in Dublin ) is an Irish musician, arranger , songwriter and composer of film scores.
life and work
Fiachra Trench studied science at Trinity College in Dublin and organ and composition at the Royal Irish Academy of Music . He continued his music studies at the universities of Georgia and then in Cincinnati , where he graduated with a master's degree. A grant from the Irish Arts Council allowed him to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
From 1969 to 1991 he worked in London as a composer, arranger, conductor and music producer. In 1992 he returned to Ireland. Since then he has mainly worked as a composer and arranger for film and television productions. In addition to several BBC documentaries, he has worked with film composers such as Shaun Davey , Michael Kamen and Hans Zimmer on the soundtrack of feature films.
Trench has worked with many rock, pop and folk musicians and wrote arrangements for them, including Miquel Brown , Carmel Conway , Elvis Costello , Van Morrison , Evelyn Thomas , The Corrs and The Chieftains .
