Fidelis Lionel Emmanuel Fernando
Fidelis Lionel Emmanuel Fernando (born May 20, 1948 in Jaffna ) is a Sri Lankan clergyman and Roman Catholic Bishop of Mannar .
Life
Pope Paul VI ordained him a priest on January 6, 1973 .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on November 28, 2011 titular bishop of Horta and auxiliary bishop in Colombo . The Archbishop of Colombo, Albert Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith , donated him episcopal ordination on February 11 of the next year ; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Joseph Spiteri , Apostolic Nuncio in Sri Lanka , and Rayappu Joseph , Bishop of Mannar.
On November 22, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Mannar. The inauguration took place on December 30th of the same year.
