Figueira dos Cavaleiros is a place and a municipality in the Baixo Alentejo region in southern Portugal .
In addition to the listed Mannerist parish church from the 16th century, the Gothic church Igreja de Santa Margarida do Sado, built in the 15th century in the parish of the same name, Santa Margarida , is particularly worth seeing.
history
The area around Figueira dos Cavaleiros was settled under the Romans. Some remains of Roman buildings in the community still testify to this today.
