The characters from the cartoon series My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic live for the most part in the fictional kingdom of Equestria , ruled by ponies , which is the main location of the fourth generation of the TV series for the My Little Pony brand by Hasbro . In addition, these characters appear in the official comics from IDW Publishing and all other products of the brand. These characters exist in human form in the spin-off films Equestria Girls and Rainbow Rocks and the products derived from them in the “Equestria Girls” series .
main characters

Discord
Discord is the antagonist of the second season's pilot double episode . As a chimera (called Draconequus or Dragon Pony in the series) he has great magical powers with which he spreads chaos and discord. He was formerly the ruler of Equestria until Princess Celestia and Princess Luna transformed him into a statue using the elements of harmony, bringing peace to the land. In the first episode of the second season he is released again. He succeeds in corrupting the protagonists for a while, so that they no longer stand united against him and cannot use their elements of harmony against him. Eventually, however, they free themselves from his influence and turn him back into a stone statue. In the third season he is in the episode Discord a good dragon is freed from them again and made to use his magic for good in the future. From the fourth season he has repeated appearances, where he is still of a chaotic nature, but mostly on the side of the protagonists.
The character traits of this character are similar to the being Q from the science fiction series Starship Enterprise: The Next Century . The actor John de Lancie , who also embodied the character of Q in Star Trek, lends him his voice. As a chimera, its body is made up of parts from different animals. Queen Chrysalis
Chrysalis is the queen of change ponies (English " Changelings "), who feed on the love of other ponies. She is the antagonist of the final double episode of the second season . King Sombra
Sombra is the antagonist of the pilot double episode of the third season . He once ruled the Crystal Kingdom as the unicorn king. When he was overthrown, he also made the kingdom disappear. A thousand years later they both return and Sombra tries again to bring the kingdom under his control, but the protagonists of the series can help the local ponies destroy him.
Sombra is a gray unicorn with a black, waving mane and a red curved horn, who wears a circlet, armor and a red royal cloak. His eyes glow green and a purple veil emanates from them. He can take on a ghostly shadow form.
Tirek
Tirek once tried together with his brother Scorpan to seize control of Equestria and steal its magic in order to become more powerful themselves. However, Scorpan came to appreciate the Equestria ponies and helped Celestia and Luna banish his brother to Tartarus . In the double episode Twilight's Kingdom of the fourth season he returns and tries again to incorporate the magic of all Equestria's ponies. He even pulls Discord over to his side and can steal so much magic that he is even dangerous to the Princesses of Equestrias. To protect their magic from its access, they hide it in Twilight Sparkle.
Discord reveals Tirek Twilight's whereabouts, whereupon Tirek Twilight's friends capture and steal their magic. He then deceives Discord, steals its magic and attacks Twilight himself, but neither can beat the other, which is why he offers Twilight to release her friends in exchange for her magic. Twilight agrees, but also demands Discord's release. Discord gives her an amulet that Tirek gave him that turns out to be the final key to a box that Twilight found at the beginning of the season. The rainbow magic contained in the box banishes Tirek back to Tartarus and releases the magic he stole.
Tirek has the appearance of a centaur of red, black and gray tint with yellow eyes and wearing a metal nose ring. As its power grows over the course of the double episodes, so does its size.
Unlike the previous antagonists in the series, Tirek and Scorpan already appeared in the first generation of My Little Pony in the twenty-minute short film Adventure on the Midnight River (in the original Rescue at Midnight Castle ), where Scorpan is a servant of Tirek, not his brother.

Her transformation into Nightmare Moon changed her body color from blue to black and her light blue mane and tail became a blue mist. Her beauty mark, a white crescent moon on a black cloud, became a white crescent moon on a purple cloud, otherwise it would not be visible. After being transformed back, it returns to its original shape, but has darker fur and a flowing mane that looks like part of the night sky.
Shining Armor
Shining Armor is a white unicorn with a blue mane and blue eyes. He is Twilight's big brother, Captain of the Canterlot Royal Guard, and is primarily a defensive magician. Princess Cadence, actually Mi Amore Candenza, is a pink Alihorn and, next to his husband Shining Armor, co-regent of the Crystal Kingdom.
