The Andersdorf branch church in the municipality of Sankt Georgen im Lavanttal is under the patronage of the Holy Cross . A church in Andersdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1497. It originally belonged to the Lavamünd parish and came to the St. Georgen parish in Lavanttal in 1786 .

Building description

The church is a baroque building with a western tower and a slightly retracted choir. There is a sacristy annex on the north side of the choir . The tower with twin windows on the bell floor and a pyramid helmet conceals the vestibule on the tower ground floor. The interior of the three- bay nave with groin vaults is structured by pilasters and belt arches. The single-bay, groin-vaulted choir ends in a three-sided conclusion.

Facility

The cross altar bears carved figurines from the second half of the 18th century. The figural sculpture of the pulpit from the third third of the 18th century is attributed to Michael Zill. An All Souls relief from the 18th century and a trumpet angel from the mid-18th century above the organ complete the furnishings of the church.
