Building description

The core of the Romanesque choir tower church , which dates from the 12th and 13th centuries, was extended in the Baroque period . The Romanesque tower has twin windows with pointed arches in the bell storey and is crowned by a pointed helmet. A baroque sacristy is built in the north . The profiled, baroque west portal with a straight lintel is supported by a small closed porch.

The nave with a wooden west gallery has a flat roof. A narrow, round-arched choir arch connects the nave with the square choir on the tower ground floor. A ribbed vault from the first half of the 14th century with figural consoles and a keystone rises above the choir . The northern corbel portal forms the entrance to the barrel-vaulted sacristy. The ogival window choir comes from the Gothic. In the baroque windows of the nave, glass panes from 1913 with the depictions of Saints Laurentius and Leonhard can be seen.

Facility

The high altar from 1768 with sacrificial portals bears an altar sheet from the 19th century with the rendering of St. George , flanked by the baroque statues of St. Benedict and Scholastica and the princes of the apostles Peter and Paul .

The two side altars were built around 1720/1730. The left altar hides in the niche a statue of Immaculate from the 19th century, the right a statue of the Good Shepherd made around 1720/1730 . A crucifix from the 19th century, a canvas picture of Maria Magdalena from the third quarter of the 19th century and the baroque console statues John the Baptist and the Evangelist Luke complete the furnishings of the church.

Karner

The Karner south of the church is a Gothic rotunda with a rectangular apse and a porch built in 1999. The conical roof is crowned by a ridge turret with an onion helmet. Today the Karner serves as a funeral hall.

In the cemetery wall there is a Roman epitaph for Primus and Tertia.
